About the BLCB
The Stem Cell Bank of Barcelona (BLCB) is a functional unit of the CMR[B], dedicated to the derivation, maintenance, characterisation and preservation of embryonic stem cells, with the aim of developing research activities in the area of regenerative medicine. In terms of infrastructure, the Bank comprises cell culture, characterisation and cryobiology laboratories.
The principal midterm objective of the BLCB project will be to achieve the capacity to create cell lines free from xenobiotics and in GMP conditions to obtain material useable in clinical research. The close collaboration between the BLCB and the CMRB research laboratory will enable an optimisation of the culture conditions with the aim of carrying out research in the therapeutic field. Its mission will be to generate a record of stem-cell lines, with the aim of improving research in the area of embryonic stem cells with its own research projects.Â
Available Lines and their Characterization:
ES2 Cell Line
