Adult Mesenchymal Stem Cell Resource
The Tulane Center for Gene Therapy has received a grant funded by the NIH to establish a center for preparation, quality testing, and distribution of Bone Marrow Stromal Cells, also known as Mesenchymal Stem Cells, to academic researchers worldwide upon request. The resource provides well-characterized human adult stem cells, rat stem cells, and mouse stem cells, some of which are also available containing fluorescent proteins such as GFP (cytoplasmic expression), MitoRed or MitoBlue (mitochondrial expression), and some MSCs with a combination of GFP and either MitoRed or MitoBlue.
ATCC Stem Cell Center
Includes Human Embryonic Stem Cells, mouse germ line competent embryonic stem cells, mouse modified In Vitro embryonic stem cells, human and mouse Feeder Layer cells, and embryomal carcinoma cell lines. Characterizes and distributes stem cell lines, and develops and optimizes research methodologies and reagents.
BLCB The Stem Cell Bank of Barcelona at the Center of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona (CMR[B])
Dedicated to the derivation, maintenance, characterization and preservation of human embryonic stem cells with the aim of advancing research activities in the area of regenerative medicine. The main objective of the BLCB is the derivation of xenobiotics-free hESC lines under GMP-compliant conditions that are applicable in clinical research
ECACC European Collection of Cell Cultures
A general Cell Culture collection to service the research community. Currently holds over 40,000 cell lines representing 45 different species; among these are some mouse and human stem and progenitor cells.
hESCreg European Human Embryonic Stem Cell Registry
Contain information on the characteristics of the stem cell lines, where they came from and relevant contact data, as well as news of interesting developments such as clinical trials and information on human embryonic stem cell lines obtained from EU-funded projects.
ISCI International Stem Cell Initiative Stem Cell Registry
A project of the International Stem Cell Forum, to systematically study human embryonic stem cells in an effort to establish an international set of standards for characterization.
ISCR International Stem Cell Registry
The mission of the University of Massachusetts International Stem Cell Registry is to provide a searchable, comprehensive database that includes published and validated unpublished information on all human ES cell lines as well as other pluripotent stem cell lines.
NHNSCR National Human Neural Stem Cell Resource
Provides neural stem cells harvested from the post-natal, post-mortem, human brain to the research community for stem cell research. Several brain areas as well as cultures from normal and genetically mutant specimens are represented in the Resource.
NIH National Institutes of Health Embryonic Stem Cell Registry
Lists the derivations of stem cells that are eligible for U.S. federal funding. Provide investigators with a unique NIH Code for each cell line that must be used when applying for NIH funding and contact information to facilitate investigators' acquisition of stem cells.
NSCB National Stem Cell Bank
Established at WiCell in 2005 to acquire, characterize and distribute the human embryonic stem cell lines and their sub-clones available for use in U.S. federally funded research programs and to provide technical support to the hES cell research community.
Riken BioResource Center Cell Bank
A general cell line resource in Japan, which includes a variety of mouse germ line and embryonic stem cell lines, including modified lines and lines established by nuclear transfer technique. .
The Stem Cell Community – Human Embryonic Stem Cell Lines
A searchable database of more than 250 human embryonic stem cell lines worldwide.
UKSCB United Kingdom Stem Cell Bank
Provides a repository for human stem cell lines of all types, and has been developed to supply well characterized cell lines under appropriate and accredited quality systems both for basic research and for the development of clinical applications.
