ANN  American Academy of Neurology An international professional association of more than 21,000 neurologists and neuroscience professionals dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients with neurological disorders.   AACR  American Association for Cancer Research The oldest and largest scientific organization in the world focused on cancer research.  They foster the exchange of knowledge and new ideas among scientists dedicated to cancer research, provide training opportunities for researchers, and increase public understanding of cancer.  AACR  publishes six peer-reviewed scientific journals and CR, a magazine for cancer survivors, patient advocates, their families, physicians and scientists.   AAI  American Association of Immunologists The largest association of immunologists in the world, aiming to advance knowledge of immunology and related disciplines, to foster the exchange of ideas, and to promote an understanding of the field of immunology.  AAI publishes The Journal of Immunology (JI).   AHA  American Heart Association A national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.”   ASH  American Society of Hematology The mission of ASH is to further the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders affecting the blood, bone marrow, and the immunologic, hemostatic and vascular systems, by promoting research, clinical care, education, training, and advocacy in hematology.  ASH publishes the journal Blood.   BSH  British Society for Haematology Aims to advance the practice and study of haematology and facilitate contact between persons interested in haematology.   BSH publishes the Guidelines from the British Committee for Standards in Haematology.   EHA  European Hematology Association Aims to promote excellence in clinical practice, research and education in European haematology.  EHA publishes Haematologica/The Hematology Journal.   FASEB  Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology A coalition of independent member societies that serve the interests of biomedical and life scientists, particularly those related to public policy issues.  FASEB publishes The FASEB Journal.   HSANZ  Hematology Society of Australia and New Zealand Aims to inform members of the most recent developments in haematology, and to advance knowledge and inspire continued professional development in this discipline.   HUPO  Human Proteome Organization An international scientific organization representing and promoting proteomics through international cooperation and collaborations by fostering the development of new technologies, techniques and training.   IFATS  International Federation of Adipose Therapeutics and Science Brings together different disciplines within the field of adipose biology in order to share knowledge, influence policy, exchange new ideas, and develop new technology derived from and directed toward adipose tissue.   ISEH  International Society for Experimental Hematology – Society for Hematology and Stem Cells Working to promote the scientific knowledge and clinical application of basic hematology, immunology, stem cell research, cell and Gene therapy, and related aspects of research through publications, discussions, scientific meetings and the support of young investigators.   ISD  International Society of Differentiation Aims to encourage and develop research and communication in the fields of cell and developmental biology, molecular biology and oncology through meetings and publications.   ISNFR  International Society for Neural Feedback and Research A  membership organization comprised of people from many countries and various professional disciplines doing neurotherapy and neurofeedback training and research. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.  Has information on research, publications, advocacy, and support of those with juvenile diabetes.   NDRI  National Development and Research Institutes A non-profit research and educational organization dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge in the areas of drug and alcohol abuse, treatment and recovery; HIV, AIDS and HCV; areas of public health, mental health, criminal justice, urban problems, prevention and epidemiology.   NHLBI  National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute Plans, conducts, fosters, and supports an integrated and coordinated program of basic research, clinical investigations and trials, observational studies, and demonstration and education projects. Research is related to the causes, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart, blood vessel, lung, and blood diseases; and sleep disorders.   SfN  Society for Neuroscience A nonprofit membership organization of basic scientists and physicians who study the brain and nervous system.  The Society's primary goal is to promote the exchange of information among researchers. SfN publishes The Journal of Neuroscience.
