The Student Society for Stem Cell Research is an international network dedicated to the advancement of scientific research for cures. Founded in 2003, the SSSCR has 32 established academic chapters and the network spans over 15 countries, the continental U.S, states and 200 institutions consisting of students, researchers, patient advocates, and policy makers united by the purpose of finding treatments and cures to debilitating conditions. We believe that stem cell research will revolutionize the field of medicine, and that with a coordinated and cooperative global effort is important to advance stem cell research in the most efficient manner.
SSSCR membership is open to students and post-doctorates anywhere in the world. Anyone—including patient advocates, researchers, professors, directors of non-profits, and industry leaders—can join the SSSCR network. Membership includes students with and without backgrounds in medical research. Those with research backgrounds help formulate our position based on sound scientific facts. Those with non-research backgrounds help disseminate our message to a broader public and enhance the other components of our organization that drive our mission.
