National "Stem Cell" Award to Be Given in Symposium
Awardee to Be Named at 6th Int'l Stem Cell Symposium

The US$10,000 award will be presented to a young scientist who, as principal author, published a paper in STEM CELLS during the past year that was judged to be most important by the Journal's editorial board jury. The awardee will also be invited to present a paper at the 6th International Stem Cell Symposium with support provided by the conference organizers.  "Our senior editors are delighted to celebrate the scientific advances made by a young investigator whose research has advanced our understanding of stem cell biology, thus fostering the future of their clinical applications. We are doubly honored to make this award in partnership with the International Stem Cell Symposium," said Dr. Martin J. Murphy, executive editor of STEM CELLS. Dr. Murphy, will present a special keynote lecture at the Symposium, along with leading international stem cell scientists, including Drs. Darwin Prockop, John Huard, Tsvee Lapidot, Eric Lagasse and Arnold Caplan.

About the International Stem Cell Symposium

The International Stem Cell Symposium has been organized annually by faculty of The Catholic University of Korea at which the most promising basic and clinical research dealing with stem cells and their therapeutic applications is critically discussed by cutting-edge Asia-Pacific researchers.
